MISS CALIFORNIA PETITE 2020 - APPOINTED TITLES
What Does It Mean to Be Appointed?
When there is not a physical pageant held, titleholders are "appointed" or "chosen" to represent their state. This means they are recognized as full-fledged titleholders with a crown and sash even though they did not compete against other contestants. Being appointed also means being automatically eligible (and contractually obligated) to compete at the USA Petite pageant for that year.
All applicants are carefully reviewed based on their submission, photos and other relevant information. The final selections for appointed titles are made by the system's National Director at her discretion.
Appointed titles are not uncommon in the pageant industry and serve as an alternative to competing in a system's national competition until an actual state level pageant is available. For the year 2020, the Miss California Petite organization has elected to appoint titleholders for the TEEN, MISS, MS. & MRS. divisions.
